Enter scores as you play
With an interface that’s easy to use, and easy to see in sunlight, you can enter scores as you play.
You have quick access to hole information such as par, stroke index and hole length. As well as recording your score for the hole, you can also record the number of putts and the tee shot result (fairway, green or rough).
You can update your score stroke-by-stroke, or at the end of each hole. Entering as you play means you don’t have to think too hard about how many shots you had leading up to the hole.
At any time during the game, click on the score card icon and see the scores of all the players updated as they enter their scores.
And you don’t have to worry about storing, scanning or losing old score cards. Your scores are preserved in your profile so even if you only play every few months you know exactly how you did last time and how you need to improve.

Your key score metrics are graphed over time including total scores, stableford points, and putts. It also tracks the handicap you played at any time. Over time with more data this can give you a real picture of how you are improving, and where you may need to focus.

Here’s what you need to know…
Do I need to download the app from the App Store?
No download required. Round Buddy is a web app. This means that all you need is the web link (URL) and your login credentials. The first time you use it you create an account, and then save those credentials for next time.
A pro tip is to add it to the home screen of your phone using the ‘share’ button.
What if my course isn’t available in the app?
No problem at all! All you have to do is scan your course’s scorecard using the ‘Add a course’ function. This will save all of the relevant data including par for each hole, stroke index and hole length. Once you have added a course it is there for anyone else who plays on that course in future.
We’ve added a few courses to start with, but we are looking to the community to help us expand the coverage.
Why is Stableford a good option for casual golfers?
Stableford is one of the best ways to enjoy social golf, but it’s often avoided because the scoring can be confusing.
Working out points based on your handicap and each hole’s difficulty can be tricky, especially mid-round.
Round Buddy removes that complexity. We handle the calculations for you, so you can enjoy Stableford the way it’s meant to be played. You can play faster, compete fairly and focus on your game.
Do I need an official handicap?
No. You can apply an official handicap if you have one, or if like many casual golfers you don’t have one, you can nominate an informal handicap to start.
Once you have played a few rounds, you will have a good idea of what handicap you and your ‘Buddies’ are playing to.
If you haven’t played for a while or have never had a handicap, we recommend you start with 36 or 27. After you have had a few rounds you will know where your handicap should be, and you can adjust it for each round from there.
How are the AI golf insights provided?
At the end of your round you can ask for AI Golf Insights. The AI will evaluate your scorecard and ask you a few questions about your round. For example it may ask you which club you used to tee off on your best hole, or how you felt about your putting that day.
The app will then make some recommendations based on your answers, the data in the current round, and previous rounds. Of course it doesn’t replace the need for coaching by a real pro, but it can certainly offer some advice on game strategy and areas of focus for next time.
How long will it keep my records?
As you continue to play and record your scores in Round Buddy it will develop a golfer profile for you. It will graph your results over time, tracking metrics such as strokes, stableford points, no of putts, fairways and the handicap you played to.
You can access detailed scorecards of your last 10 games and beyond that the information is aggregated into your progress graph, so you know how you are performing over time.
